Today Del and I rode our bikes to lunch. We went to a little Mexican food place near our home and had carne asada fries. They are to die for (literally they will clog your arteries and kill you). They are so yummy. Good thing we rode our bikes because they have like fifteen hundred calories!!
This is my cool old early 1960's Schwinn. I had another cool late 1960's three gear Schwinn that had the original green paint, but someone stole it out of my backyard. I bought the first one at a yard sell a couple of streets over from my house. I paid two dollars for it. ( I think she wanted five) That was all I had on me at the time. The only thing I had to do to get it running was by a new chain and fix the flat tires. I was quite upset when it got stolen. So, I was on the look out for a new one. I found this frame, seat, fenders and racks at another yard sell that was around the corner from my in laws house. It was all apart and didn't have any wheels. Needless to say, I was super excited to find another one and at a price I could afford. It was only five dollars!! I did have to sand it down and paint it since it had already been partially stripped of paint. The fenders and racks were all rusty. I used some 00 steel wool on those. They shined right up. I had an old sears bike that I stole the rims off of and I found the white walls at Kmart. Soon after my first Schwinn was stolen Del bought a new crotch rocket so we in closed our carport to keep this motorcycle safe. (He had one stolen before.) I got to keep my new Schwinn in the garage. I have had this one for about five years now and hopefully I'll have it forever!
We then rode to Circle K to get 79 cent diet sodas. We obviously shouldn't add any more calories to our day. After that Del wanted to ride to the bike store called, Biker's Edge, in downtown Peoria to get some tire patches. We have quite a bit of farm land around us and there are no sidewalks by them. So we are riding in the dirt/rocks/stickers sometimes. I've gotten a flat tire everytime we've taken our bikes out for a spin. That's why we need more patches. And my honey husband is so wonderful fixing my flats for me.
Now, don't get to excited about our trip downtown since our downtown is quite small. It mostly consists of a few churches, a couple of insurance businesses, a Napa, a barber shop, the bike store, a jewelry store, a pool store, a car repair shop and as of last week three resale shops. We went into the new one today. The shop was very small but I did find something useless/useful (not sure which category it's going to fit into yet) to buy.

Isn't it cute? I really like the jar. It's just a plastic bunny glued to the lid and then spray painted. I've been trying to decided what to put in it. A while back I bought a little jar that has stars around the top and it has a bail with a lid. It's super cute and I put my tooth picks in it. I also have another similar one that I put matches in.
Here are my other two jars. I think it's fun. Kinda goes with my whole farm/rustic/rusty kitchen. What do you think I should put in my new bunny jar? It's a little bigger then a baby food jar. Comment and let me know. If I choose your idea maybe I'll make you one!!??
Love, Monica xoxo
