More Rocket Launching Pictures
Annual Rocket Launch
Why is it that my photos have posted in the exact opposite order I wanted them too? So, just pretend this picture is the last and the last is the first! I guess you could go to the bottom and scroll up if you want.
You can never launch rockets (well at least we can't) with out any mishaps. I think we had two or three. We had a big rocket with a small motor in it and it barely left the ground! Then, we had one or two instances when the parachute never opened. Last, we had Denver's rocket spiraling out of control as it plummeted to the ground and was embedded an inch or so into it. We got a couple of other good pictures but, Denver wasn't in them and I thought I should include him as he built it himself! Actually, he built it last year and it crashed and burned then too, but he made some modifications to it for this year and it flew several times before it's malfunction!
January 1st is a highly anticipated holiday at our house not because we get the day off, or because it's the start of a new year, but because, we get to show off our rocket building skills and launch our rockets. This has been an annual event for the Stefflers for many years and it is always a lot of fun. But, last year I decided to include my in laws since our family has shrunk so much since my much loved siblings have moved away taking my nieces and nephews with them. Can you believe the nerve of my siblings? Depriving me of my Auntly rights to get to see them as much as I want! Anyways, the new additions to our group has been fun! I think Tanner will eventually come to love the event as much as I do.
One of my favorite parts is watching the kids (and adults!) run after their rockets to try and catch them as they hopefully gently and slowly float to earth. We used to get a lot of upset kids when someone else would beat them to it, but now that my kids are older and a little less prone to want to run they let everyone catch their own rockets. Charity still got upset though. We also started BBQing before the EVENT and that has been fun as well. Family, Fun, and Food what more could you ask for? Monica xoxo

A Dog's Life
Our Dog Lily had puppies on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010. She had FIVE puppies. They are so adorable! Puppy #1 is Roxie the Runt, #2 Callie ( Aimee's family is taking this puppy so Jessica named her.), #3 I've been calling him Buddy cause we don't have a name for him. He's the only brown one, #4 Bandit, and #5 is Godzilla (Dillon Named him. He was the biggest at birth and still is!). They are almost five weeks old and just started eating wet puppy chow! I'll be sad when they are gone. Although if it were up to the kids we'd keep them all!
